It is a tradition in the Atariscene that there is a big convention taking place at Easter of each year. This tradition started in the early 90s with the famous "Fried Bits" parties in Bremen. At these conventions one could met people from all over Europe who were interested in Atari and the demoscene in general.
Unfortunatly this tradition seemed to end in 1997 with the unforgetable "Siliconvention '97" which was the last big Atariparty held in Bremen. Nobody was seriously trying to take over the job of organizing a convention for 1998, maybe due to the fact that the Atariscene got smaller and smaller and all the old big and famous democrews left the Atari- platform.
But however, many Atarisceners were left and willing to attend such a party again. Finally, this was the reason for us to try to continue the tradition of Easter parties and so we started to arrange one for 1999.
"ERROR IN LINE '99" took place in Dresden, Germany from 02.-05. of April in 1999. Circa one hundred of Ataripeople came and made the party a very exciting event.
We were really happy that the feedback was that great and a lot of people were willing to come back for an eventually EIL 2000. But after all, we were a bit tired, since arranging a party - even with that much support - is still a lot of work, which we didn't want to face that soon again.
Now, two long years have passed by since the first edition of "EIL" and we have taken a long enough rest to invite you with new motivation and optimism to the "ERROR IN LINE #2" convention.
Of course "EIL #2" will take place at Easter again and we hope for a even nicer gathering of funny, creative, weird and interesting people this time.
We hope to see you in Dresden next Easter, back in the underground.
